@Abjhitsmedia recently got the opportunity to chat with one of Abuja’s finest MC cum stand-up comedian who goes by the name Chuks D’ General, widely known for his saying “it’s not the size of the container that matters, but the content”. Born on the 27th of February, 19... Israel Chukwuyem Jude aka Chuks as we got to know is his birth name, is the 3rd of four children, from Ika North East local government area in Delta state. He underwent primary and secondary education in Delta, thereafter obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nasarawa State University, Keffi where he studied Statistics.

The Abuja based business man as I like to call him, says growing up he never thought he’ll be a comedian or an MC, so he didn't take time out to have practice sessions in front of a mirror, Chuks was a regular kid, who loved and still loves God, was involved in a lot of church activities, from reading the bible for the preacher to planning church activities to reciting bible passages in front of church members, so he has never been afraid to face a crowd. While Chuks went about his regular life as a church boy joyfully, he had no idea God was preparing him for something in the near future.
According to the comedian, comedy in Nigeria has undoubtedly evolved from the norm;it has grown so much people no longer see it as mere stage act. It is now an actual business which provides healthy means of livelihood. The young bloke definitely enjoys what he does, as he says that amongst the million and one things that inspire him, seeing people happy when he is performing on stage is his best drive.
One will think with this success story, Chuks has never had an embarrassing moment, but I guess it comes with the job, one or two embarrassing stories before the people start to appreciate you… he was kind enough to share his with @Abjhitsmedia his early days in comedy were not too nice, people could hardly believe in him, because of his size this was what led to one of his most embarrassing moments about three years ago when he had to stand in for a colleague at a wedding. He got to the venue early enough but the father of the bride wasn't excited to see him and didn't mince his sad expressions. He didn't think Chuks could handle the event, but of course after much convincing, the father of the bride allowed him, the crowd was wowed, and the rest is history.

The single guy who is in a serious relationship with God doesn't see his talent as an avenue to go on an exploitative spree. He more or less performs free of charge, but as a client you just have to give him a gift of a particular amount which he’ll tell u at the time of your call. When asked about his philosophy in life, he simply said “no matter what you do in life, make sure you don’t go to hell for any reason” hmm personally, I adopted that.
Chuks has featured in some very big events, like MBGN, AY live, Iyanya Desire Concert, Night of a Thousand Laughs, MayD album launch, and a host of others so it is safe to say God is definitely smiling on one of our own. He sees himself as a moving ship, in which God is Lord, and since he has submitted himself to God’s lordship he has urged us to sit tight because the best is yet to come…he says in his words “watch out” I must say this was one interesting chat but it had to end and our handsome down to earth businessman ended it with “watch out for Chuks D’ General” and of course a sexy*wink*
